The Philadelphia Flyers have entirely no business participating in the Stanley Cup gambling finals. For most of the whole NHL gambling season, this is a team that was little more than average. This is also a team that, on the last day of the season, only slightly qualified for the NHL Playoff wagering action by winning a shootout vs the New York Rangers.

But this is also a team that re-wrote the NHL odds history books by becoming the first NHL team in forty years to come back from a 3- deficit in an NHL playoff gambling series. It’s also a team that has made hockey betting fans believe anything is possible and it’s a #7 seed that lost a nail-biter of a Stanley Cup betting Game 1 after leading much of the game.

The Philadelphia Flyers might have lost the opening match of the Stanley Cup probabilities competition, but the team also demonstrated to the sports wagering world that in spite of having no chance of whipping an outstanding Chicago squad on paper, on the ice this team can go head to head with any team in the hockey gambling competition.

And Philadelphia can secure this series and lift the Stanley Cup if they can keep up the frantic pace of Game 1.

No one expected Game 1 to play out the way it did. The goaltenders were somewhat suspect heading into the Stanley Cup wagering and in the 1st match of the series we saw why as they combined to allow a mind-numbing 11 goals.

Philadelphia have to a better job of clearing players off the front of the goal and defending Hawks players on their own side of the ice. The bigger and more vigorous Hawks forwards had their way with the Flyers’ defenders in Game 1 of this hockey gambling competition.

The Flyers might end up regretting Game 1 as they truly let the game get away. Chicago’s top line of Jonathaw Toews, Patrick Kane and Dustin Byfuglien were awful as they went a combined minus-9 in the game. Philadelphia still lost in spite of not doing a single penalty. Chicago realize that they probably stole a match they shouldn’t have won. That does not bode well for the flyers who were underdogs in the first place. If the underdog doesn’t win a match they should, they almost never win the NHL wagering series. Chicago demonstrated they can win without their top line accomplishing anything and when they didn’t have a single power play. They played a much better game on Monday in Game 2 when they conquered the Flyers 2-1.

Don’t be surprised to see a much more aggressive Flyers team on defense and expect the team to keep on charging hard at the goal on the other end. The Flyers have a good shot of taking a game on the enemy’s ice and heading back to Philly in control of the Stanley Cup betting momentum, if the defense can tighten up just a bit and win the fight against Chicago’s forwards.
